Hey there! I’m Brian Donnelly. I’m a UX researcher and designer currently living in Huntington Beach, California. I graduated with distinction from DePaul University’s HCI master’s program in 2019 and received my BA in psychology, with a minor in anthropology, from Marquette University in 2015. Both universities helped me foster my penchant for behavioral research, my passion for evaluating how we use technology to improve our daily lives, and the importance I place in understanding and appreciating context and cultural values when conducting research.
I started my professional career as a UX designer and researcher at Arize. Arize is a smart apartment solutions company that provides Multifamily properties all the latest in IoT technology and automation. At Arize, I planned, conducted, and prioritized our mixed-methods research for all the IoT software and hardware products we provided our users. I had the amazing opportunity to take part in all facets of the UX research process with with our B2B (property management companies) and B2C (apartment residents) audiences. It’s was an amazing experience learning about their unique wants, needs, and challenges and uncovering insights that inform design decisions that help guide our team in creating amazing products and experiences that allow all our users to get the most out of their smart apartment solutions.
But I’m currently looking for new opportunities to apply and expand my UX research and design skills to take on new challenges and create rewarding experiences that help people improve their lives and their relationship with technology.
